Ida and Ryan are two of the sweetest people ever, and I had so much fun hanging out with them at Franciscan Gardens on their wedding day! Ida and Ryan actually won my 10k giveaway on Instagram, and I am SO glad they did. Franciscan Gardens is one of my FAVORITE venues in California. Ida and Ryan’s wedding day felt so whimsical and romantic, and I cannot wait to share the photos with you all!
Why I Love This Venue
When Ida and Ryan won my giveaway, I felt stoked. I was even MORE excited when they let me know that they were planning their wedding at Franciscan Gardens in San Juan Capistrano. This venue is seriously a dream come true! It is tucked in the hills of an incredibly historic town, and feels SO charming. Franciscan Gardens effortlessly combines old word, whimsical charm with modern day details.
Ida and Ryan felt super focused on making their day feel very airy, romantic and loving. Franciscan Gardens was the perfect venue for their vision, and I was so happy with the way it came together! This venue actually features two massive spaces that can hold a ceremony of almost any size. Ida and Ryan chose to tie the knot in the outdoor courtyard, however there is also a large indoor option perfect for unexpected rain! Franciscan Gardens also features two huge on suites for getting ready. I love when venues have large suites, because nobody has to worry about getting ready off site!
Ida and Ryan’s Wedding Day!
Let me tell you.. I am OBSESSED with these two! I spent every single moment of their wedding day SO excited and full of energy. They are so laid back, and incredibly sweet. Every single person was ready for an amazing day, and it was so much fun to capture!
Ida spent her morning in one of the large on suites, getting ready in the cutest matching robes with her girls. This group was SO fun! I was head over heels in love wit Ida’s dress. Her form fitting, lace mermaid wedding gown seriously looked like it was custom made for her. These lovers shared an adorable first look, where they exchanged a few gifts. First looks are always such a special moment on wedding days, and I love when couples take a moment to make it feel even more personal. Ida’s bridesmaids looked stunning beside her in their earthy, romantic taupe dresses. Ryan’s groomsmen wore incredible dark navy suits, and the colors all looked fantastic together!
This ceremony space, holy crap. Like I mentioned before, Ida and Ryan took advantage of the huge outdoor courtyard at Franciscan Gardens. The entire space was decked out in soft pink florals, and featured tons of bohemian touches. Their modern, round wood arch was the perfect backdrop for tying the knot. The entire outdoor space is surrounded by lush greenery, and it was seriously a dream come true! Ida and Ryan shared an incredibly sentimental wedding with their family and friends, exchanged a big kiss, and just like that they were husband and wife!
Following their ceremony, I explored the nearby area a bit with these two. They were so down to run around, and we got some pretty incredible photos during golden hour. These two were naturals in front of the camera, and they couldn’t keep their hands off each other!
The Reception
I really did not think the decor could get even better, until I walked into the reception. This space was PERFECT! The entire space was covered in greenery in flowers. It could not have been more romantic! I loved the LED sign hung above the sweethearts table. Each of the dinner tables felt simple, yet romantic. The entire space was underneath string lights, and it was a perfectly warm California evening. Ida and Ryan threw one heck of a party, and danced the night away with their favorite people! I left their wedding day with the biggest smile on my face, and I am so glad these two won my giveaway!
