I am seriously so obsessed with Katrina and Robert, and I had so much fun capturing their tropical and bright wedding day! I’ve known these lovers for SO LONG now, and I always look forward to getting them behind my camera. They are so sweet, fun loving and laid back! As soon as they reached out to me about their wedding day, I was counting down the dang days. I am so excited to share the photos from this absolutely INCREDIBLE wedding day!
Katrina and Robert are both absolute social butterflies. Seriously, their bridal party was the BEST! Katrina spent her morning getting all glammed up with her girls. I had so much fun rounding them up, throwing on their matching robes and sunglasses, and KILLING it in front of the camera. We NEED to talk about their gowns because holy crap you guys… I was literally blown away. I love it when bridesmaids choose to mix and match their gowns, and it adds a whole other level of dimension to the bridal party. The colors were insane, and I loved how bright it all felt. Katrina looked incredible in her romantic, lace gown and everyone’s jaws dropped when she showed her girls. Robert spent his morning with his buddies, cracking open some beers and looking forward to seeing his beautiful bride!
Once she was all zipped up in her gown, and after she got some puppy snuggles, it was time for Katrina’s first look with her father. These moments are always SO tender, and I love capturing the emotions between my brides and their dad’s. After blowing her dad away, it was time for her to meet up with Robert. While some couples like to do full blown first looks, Katrina and Robert chose something a little different. I love when my couples come together to hold hands, and exchange gifts like these two before the ceremony. The butterflies are always off the freakin charts, and it’s so fun to watch the sparks fly. It adds to all that amazing wedding day tension. After such a tempting first (not) look, these two were definitely anxious to get down the aisle.
This ceremony space… you guys. Holy crap. SO tropical and bright. First of all, this entire venue was literally paradise. If you were to take the sunny, tropical scenery of Hawaii and bottle it up, and drop it in SoCal, it would look like this. Every single corner of this venue was COVERED in lush, tropical greenery and flowers. I literally felt like I was shooting a wedding in Hawaii. Their ceremony space was mind boggling. It took place against an incredible, peaceful water feature.
I loved how they incorporated tons of bohemian details like pampas grass and dried florals, while still remaining super bright and tropical. It was A DREAAAMM. Their ceremony was super emotional, intimate and fun. Katrina and Jordan are freaking soulmates. For as long as i’ve known them, i’d been waiting for this day. I love that my job allows me to connect with so many amazing couples, and capture their relationship over and over again as it grows. As they kissed, flower petals fell down on top of them and it was SUCH a moment!
After the ceremony, I gathered up the bridal party and took some photos. These guys were so fun! They were totally down for crazy, silly poses which I LOVED. All their photos capture their personality perfectly, which is literally all I could ask for! I explored the gardens a little bit with Katrina and Robert before heading over to their reception, and it was legit magic. I had SO much fun running around the venue with these two, and you’re definitely going to want to check the photos out. One of the best spots was atop a small bride, surrounded by huge, tropical leaves and bushes. I was dead!
Katrina and Roberts reception was AMAZING! The decor felt so romantic and colorful. They incorporated a lot of dusty pink tones in their table settings, and it looked so bomb! After sharing a first dance and filling their bellies, I stole these two away just one more time. I love these moments after the ceremony with my couples, because the energy is always amazing. They’ve usually got the scariest part over with, and finally get to focus on taking in all the love. As the sun went down, the party really started. Let me tell you, this group knows how to party. Every single person from youngest to old was throwing down on the dance floor! After cutting their cake, these two partied with their people all night long. I had such an unforgettable night with these two, and I hope you love the photos as much as we do!
